We've got another great Routes to Roots workshop coming up Thursday, March
27 -- "Acoustic Guitar Flatpicking Techniques" with world-renowned guitarist
Scott Fore. Here's your chance to learn firsthand from one of the world's
most talented flatpicking guitarists. This one-of-a-kind workshop takes
place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Feel free to bring your guitars, but if you just
want to watch and learn, that's okay, too! Afterwards, we'll experience the
closest thing Lafayette has to offer to a '60s coffeehouse, as Mississippi
John Hurt, Doc Watson, Cajun and bluegrass tunes mix and meld in the music Scott and BeauSoleil ace David Doucet will create in an intimate Louisiana
Crossroads performance at 7:00 p.m. This seated, smoke-free,
conversation-oriented performance is intended for all ages to enjoy. It all
happens at the beautiful Acadiana Center for the Arts, 101 W. Vermilion
Street in downtown Lafayette. Tickets to the workshop, concert, and a
discount ticket for both events are available now at http://www.LouisianaCrossroads.org. Friends of LFR can purchase tickets for
$2 off by charging by phone at (337)233-7060 or stopping by the Acadiana
Center for the Arts box office. Tickets will go up by $2 the night of the
show. Call us at (337)234-8360 or email us at info @ lafolkroots.org if you need more information.
