Please join the Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce and Louisiana Folk Roots for an incredible day of music and culture for all ages, Saturday, March 1, at the Ville Platte Civic Center in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Doors will open at 2 p.m. for artist-led Cajun and Creole jam sessions (please bring your instruments and voices!), French music and other activities for children, and presentations on Cajun, Creole and zydeco music including "Cajun Music: 400 Years and Counting" with David Greely and Sam Broussard, and "Creole Accordion and Fiddle Shootout" with Jeffery Broussard, D'Jalma Garnier and Steve Riley. The day will culminate in a dance from 7-10 p.m. featuring Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Admission is just $8 for adults, $5 for students with valid ID, and free for children 12 and under.
