Within the Creole French culture, musical traditions have been passed on
within families from generation to generation. Brothers, Jeffery and Clinton
Broussard grew up performing with their father, the late legendary Creole
accordionist, Delton Broussard and bands such as Zydeco Force. They will
join their Uncle, Zydeco Accordionist, Fernest Arceneaux for a presentation
on old time Creole and Zydeco music.
Master/Apprentice Presentation
Saturday, April 23, 2005
3:45pm - 5:00pm
featuring Tony Thibodeaux and Travis Matte
facilitated by Ryan Brasseaux
Musical traditions are often passed on within families from generation to
generation. However, it is also very common for individuals to learn a
musical tradition or style within a Master/Apprentice relationship. A young
musician, eager to learn, will seek out an older musician to spend time with
and learn their craft. Join master musician and fiddler, Tony Thibodeaux and
accordionist and fiddler, Travis Matte as they perform and discuss their
musical history as teacher and student.
