The Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Programs
co-hosted with The Louisiana Office of State Parks
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Upcoming Program:
April 21 - 27, 2006 at Chicot State Park, Ville Platte, Louisiana
Louisiana Folk Roots is proud to offer scholarships for our Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week to Louisiana residents who demonstrate a genuine interest in passing on individual Cajun and Creole cultural traditions. These scholarships cover the full cost of the event. Scholarship applicants must show serious commitment to their area of study, and must be legal residents of Louisiana for at least 24 consecutive months prior to the first day of the camp.
In limiting these scholarships to Louisiana residents, Folk Roots helps to ensure that these important cultural traditions continue to be actively embraced by the people of our state, and that these traditions will continue to be passed down from generation to generation in the same manner that they have been passed down throughout the years in our state.
