Boozoo Chavis was one of our master artists on Thursday and he began the dance that night with the driving music for which he is inter-nationally known. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the legend’s final performances. He gave it everything he had, as always; there is no doubt that there will never be another Boozoo. He inspired all of us with his irresistible music, hard-won stories and sense of integrity. We would like to take a moment to express our deep sorrow to Boozoo’s family and friends. Those who saw him will remember his fiery spirit and powerful charisma. Though it doesn’t do much to help those who grieve him, we can say that in his time with us at Lake Fausse Pointe he enriched all our lives immensely.
